Michelle Morris- Director

Michelle Morris and her daughter Alana Morris took over Petorium Pet & Aquarium Supplies in December 2009.

The decision for Michelle to take on Petorium was inspired by the love and dedication that she and Alana share for animals. As long as Michelle can remember, pets have been a BIG part of her life, from showing Old English Sheepdogs to breeding race horses along side with her husband Billy. Michelle currently shares her life with Toby, a 4 year old Labrador and of course her husband! Michelle would love to have alot more animals but because of her dedication she puts into Petorium, there aren’t enough hours in the day.

When Michelle is not working hard she loves spending time with her family and friends and of course her 4 grand children.

Alana Morris is the store manager and dog groomer.Alana and her Mum Michelle took on Petorium in December 2009. Alana also has a keen interest in horses and has a thoroughbred “Bobby” of her own which she is pictured here with on her weddind day. Alana use to ride track work with race horse until the early starts became too much and she knew she wanted a career as a veterinary nurse. Alana also has two dogs Millie a staffy who is one very spoilt dog and has a lot of attitude and spunk about her. Mitch is a Ridgeback X, Alana rescued him when she was Veterinary Nursing, Mitch is a big gentle giant. Milko & Bigalo, domestic short haired cats, they both were also rescued by Alana whilst she was nursing and working here at Petorium. The both are very cheeky and tends to think that they are dogs!

Alayna

Alayna- Store Assistant

Alayna is a retail assistant here at Petorium. Alayna has worked in the pet industry for over 5 years now. You could say that Alayna owns a mini zoo which consists of four cats, named Bliss, Jimmy Recard, Princess Rapunzel and Cheezles. A turtle known as Horachio. A blue tongue lizard named Stumparoodus and a tropical fish tank. My pets are my babies and mean the world to me. I’ve never seen myself doing anything but working with animals and my dream job would be to be the next David Attenbourgh, who is definitely my idol.

Alayna is currently undertaking a university degree in public relations and business management. Once she has completed this degree, she has her eyes on undertaking and dog grooming course so that she can then get her hands dirty in our grooming room!!

Alayna has a strong interest and knowledge in cold water, tropical and marine fish tanks. Alayna is constantly learning new and exciting things so if you need help setting up aquariums, water conditions, appropriate fish and fish disease Alayna is the person to help you.

Alayna has previously worked with birds such as conures, blue fronted amazons and blue and gold macaws; these are very intelligent birds and have amazing personalities. Reptiles can be known as a scary but Alayna finds them intriguing and can make a great pet. Alayna’s dream is to convince store owners Michelle and Alana to set up a reptile enclosure here at Petorium so that she can share her extensive knowledge with our customers.
